2018 was my first spring training. I wrote about it here. It’s a slightly different experience this year because I’ll be working (details to be revealed at another time.) But I am very much looking forward to sun and baseball and getting away.
Vladimir Guerrero Ramos Jr.
I actually don’t know if Stroman is here long-term. I just hope he pitches well this season and continues to post pictures of that puppy on IG.
For some reason, I suspect Tulo dreamed of playing for the Yankees all his life and will be very motivated, if he is healthy. (Which is obviously a big IF.)
He did do this the other day:
Josh will hit ALL the homers, and Vlad Jr. will hit ALL the homers, plus one.
I don’t really get why this is a debate. If you don’t think pineapple belongs on pizza, don’t order it, don’t eat it. But maybe shut up if someone else enjoys it. No one person is the boss of pizza.
I don’t mind it. If you think it’s an abomination, don’t eat it. I mean, really.
Truthfully, I don’t really follow prospects. I remember Travis Snider, J.P. Arencibia, Aaron Sanchez and others coming through the system.
But Vlad Jr., and to a lesser extent, Bo Bichette, are the first I remember following from low minors to on the cusp of the big leagues. Maybe it helps that there are two of them and also, endless variations of this photo:
In my eyes, he did. My eyes, however, don’t count. Management might be wanting to give a good look to the guys they signed over the winter and get some insurance in Borucki is unable to match his pretty stellar 2018 campaign.
What else is he really going to say?
Also, David Roth just really went all in:
In no real order, Carlos Delgado, José Bautista, Edwin Encarnación, Roy Halladay.
Probably not. I have no reason why I think that. Grich sure does hit the ball hard, though. Ok, I’ve convinced myself. 25 it is.
Sure, but possibly for another team.
He could. Health is always the key.
John Lott, doing John Lott things, released his first series of Spring Training pictures.
Marcus Stroman, on the subject:
From the comments:
Before commenting on the “literal obesity” of baseball players, please learn how to use “literally” and what “obese” actually is.
Also, apparently EVERYONE is fat now, not just Vlad Jr.
I just going to say Mr. Flow. Just because I’d love for the Blue Jays to have to answer uncomfortable questions about service time manipulation for Bichette as well as for Vlad Jr.
Gabe Gross, btw, is the hitting coach for Auburn University’s baseball team.
Probably not, at least not any time soon. There is a subsection of baseball fans that truly think the DH is substandard baseball and that it would eliminate strategy in baseball.
I think a subsection of baseball fans are idiots. But I don’t get to be in charge.
Stroman is such a tricky so and so. I sit somewhere between wishing he’d shut up sometimes and also appreciating that he isn’t afraid to speak. I’m not shocked he said he wants (that’s how I took it, rather than “deserves”) but even if it was “deserves”, I don’t think there is an issue with putting something out in the world. Asking for what you want is really one of the best ways to get it. At least there is no mystery.
I will say this to Marcus- pitching well will really make your life that much easier. You can say what you want when you bring it.
As Juvenile once put it, you gotta back that thang up. (Though that was about ass.)
How cute is the puppy? So cute. SO CUTE.
Help keep the lights on.
Thank you. :)
