I hope this finds you well.
I just heard some news. Blake Snell broke his toe. Aaron Judge joined all of the Yankees on the IL with a sore oblique. The Red Sox are the worst team in the AL. And the Orioles are, well, the Orioles.
I’m not going to argue that the Blue Jays are great team, but really, they aren’t much worse than the rest of the AL East.
Here’s my proposal:
Hold your nose and call Scott Boras. Sign Dallas Keuchel to a one year deal (which he is reportedly open to), slide him in behind Stroman and Sanchez, replacing the now injured Shoemaker. If/when Shoemaker comes back, you’ve got Stroman, Shoemaker, Sanchez, Keuchel, Thornton (or whoever). That doesn’t stink.
It’s just money. Rogers has money.
When you’ve hung up your phone, send a car to Buffalo, New York and pick up Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Slide him into your lineup, and everything looks a little more lustrous.
The American League East is currently depressed. Make the Blue Jays a Zoloft.
It’ll be fun.
Run the table, Mark. You can always rebuild and pretend to be poor next season.
