Wait...What...Whoa
I was on blogging strike after another 1 run loss to the Rays. I hope they have fun in the playoffs. It's a little less humiliating being their bitch now that they actually have a good team, rather than Carl Crawford and a bag of toys.
But then JP, sensing my indifference, DFA's Matt Stairs ( who is now a Philly) and called up the future of the franchise, the boy called Snider.
Even though Cito says "He knows it’s that time of year, so he’s fine,” I'm a little sad for Stairs...although I can't say I'll miss the repeated Jamie Campbell stories about him. Did you know he coaches hockey in Maine? That he doesn't practice hitting in the off-season? Did you know he's from New Brunswick?
Well, here's what he said to The National Post, and let that be his Jays epilogue:
"Nothing would have been better than to go down friggin' Yonge Street and celebrating with the guys I became really close with in the last year and a half. To me the greatest city in the world is Toronto. I'm not saying that because I played there or I'm a Canadian. It's a city I've always loved."
Let's celebrate down friggin' Yonge street anyway!!!
Skate on, Matty, skate on.
