Now that they are back, I just found out from a good source (loose lips) the real deal on Rolen. Rolen politely told Cito that he appreciated every day he was healthy and wanted to play when he was so he did not appreciate the need to rest after a night game. Cito thought about it and politely told him to fuck off. This started a "polite" mini fued with Rolen and Cito, so that's when Rolen started bitching to JP. Rolen and Cito agreed to get this family bullshit story because it would be the third time that Rolen had problems with a manager and their disagreement never really got personal.

According to my source, Cito has a real nasty side when players question anything he does or says.

Let's think about it...

I was under the impression that it was Rolen's request to sit on day games after night games to rest his delicate self. He hasn't been injured in a while (save for a whack to the head), so how was that not a good plan? Do we bitch for no reason often, Scott?

Now, my dad once said "Larry Bowa is an asshole. I'd feud with him too." And LaRussa clearly has a very high opinion of himself. But Cito seems to let the players play. Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse.

So, is this part of another JP pr conspiracy to silence anyone critical of the Rolen trade?
