The Sportsnet One thing annoys me because I actually have Rogers cable, I just don't have fancy Rogers cable with a box and one of those long black remotes. I don't really understand the point of the station (other than resurrecting not only that Nelly song, but Nelly himself. Not so Hot in Herre now, is it Nelly?) Maybe play less filler on regular old Sportsnet. Maybe 25 minutes of hockey news before getting to any sort of baseball highlight
Anyway, remember when the west coast was where Jays' dreams went to die, slowly and painfully? ME NEITHER. This road trip, other than that unfortunate bit on Saturday, has been very fun. Shaun Marcum reclaimed the filth and pitched probably his best game ever. It was so good, the boys pied him on the road. That takes guts. I loved Jose Bautista "inside" the park homer that clearly hit the foul pole. That became obvious from the reaction of the left fielder. The fact that the ball changed direction was another indication. But the 3rd base umpire didn't call it a homer, so Bautista ran like a mad man. And then a few batters later, Encarnacion hit an absolute bomb. Great game.

Occasionally I read comments on the Internet that not only earn my mockery but also my ire. From the comments on the Globe and Mail game story.
"I really like the look of the Jays over the next few years. Good young arms, tons of power and solid defense. Once Overbay is gone and his crappy average, this team will have the potential to challenge for a playoff spot for years to come."
Please kindly fuck off. Why do you think the defense in the infield is considered so solid? Overbay is a fantastic defensive first baseman. He stretches, he bends and he scoops balls out of the dirt on a regular bases, saving outs, runs and Encarnacion's ass on a regular basis. Did you save that comment from May? Because if you had been paying any attention at all, Overbay has pulled himself out of the offensive gutter and been quite the machine. He was Mr Late Inning Comeback a few weeks ago. So either pay attention or shut up.
