Breaking in Target Field

I felt sort of bad for Encarnacion last night. He had two complete ball massacre homers in what is supposed to be a pitcher's park in Minnesota. One was straight away centre field, which is 411 feet. But he was overshadowed by Jose Bautista who hit his first MLB opposite field homerun, and a towering grand slam to the third deck that silenced the entire state of Minnesota. Add a Travis Snider homerun which Pat Tabler said he "ganstered all over that one" and a Jose Molina homer so dinged, it ricocheted back into play, and Target Field and the Twins, like the Yankees minus Sabathia, started to look like a bit of a joke. Not that they are a joke, but this week the Jays looked more than ready to play in October. Maybe it's the lack of pressure, but they are playing loose and really, really well.
