Other than Doc, who else kicked ass today?

Okay, I know this is a baseball blog and I'll write about how kick ass Doc is tomorrow morning. More like afternoon. But between Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt, attention must be paid to the Olympics. Now Phelps winning his 8th Gold and Bolt winning the 100m sprint in the sickest race I have ever seen were pretty fantastic, (not to mention Canada finally getting in on the medal action) but my favourite Olympic moment today was Jessica Zelinka finishing 6th in the heptathlon.

I went to high school with Jessica. She probably doesn't remember me, even though we are the same age, but she was the star athlete of my school and I remember her beating all the high school records. I was so proud of her today, I cried during her 800m. And then Jessica kind of brushed aside the CBC interviewer's gushing to express her disappointment about not medalling, which made me like her even more. People have been bitching about Canada just showing up to "participate" but not having any drive to win, and that just exposed the bullshit in that assumption. She rejigged her long jump takeoff this season, due to injury, adding to the awesomeness.

By the way, Jessica looks exactly the same, except she is a hell of a lot more ripped. Holy abs, woman.
