Ten Thousand Sighs

Reading the McLeod article in today's Globe and Mail, I was feeling kinship with my Jays. I, too, am having difficulty staying motivated and focused on the task at hand.

The defensive miscues during the Red Sox series were just humiliating. And Cecil throwing a live ball into the dugout for a two base error was the most illustrative play of the kind of fucked up ness that has taken over this season.

That Red Sox series was illustrative of a lot of the season. It started out fiesty, like they could actually play with the big boys of the AL East. They lost, but they were in it.

This season was so fun to watch at the start of the season. And then things got all fucked up. The team traded Rolen (who made any game fun to watch) and Rios, who was a part of this team for so long, and provided, at the very least, something to speculate about. Will he pull it together? Will he live up to his potential? What the fuck is he thinking? But now they are both gone, and the clock is ticking on Doc's time as a Jay.

They were kicking Angel ass. Rzep was totally pimp out. Until the 'pen tried to blow it, and the game became a nail biter. And then they lost today. One step forward, ten steps back.

And the Yankees Red Sox game was really interesting and also really scary. I mean, the Red Sox embarassed the Jays and then the very next night were absolutely humiliated by the Yankees in their own house. The Yankees have become a well-oiled machine of ass kickery. And AJ is pieing his new friends. Ten thousand sighs.
