Excuse me?
Doc: "You are old and feeble and no one likes you."
Billy Wagner called Roy Halladay bush league. I'm sorry, but that is worse than what Jorge Posada did. It might be worse than the "mine!" horseshit Show Pony did. Aside from the fact that Adam Lind was completely plunked on purpose (yeah, since when does Papelbon have no control) and Halladay plunked Papi on that elbow pad he wears so he can hang over the plate. So it isn't bush league 1) because it is completely within the unwritten rules. 2) It's ROY HALLADAY!!!
Listen, Billy, you used to play in the National League, so you might be unaware at how freaking annoying/boring it is to watch the Red Sox play baseball. I mean, Youkilis, with his 45 practice swings and his ass wiggle, is lucky he doesn't get plunked everyday. It's war.
Also, everyone is pissed at Cito. I wonder how long this has been going on. If it's fairly recent, I find ironic because they are playing so well. Maybe it's good to play pissed off, boys. With an edge. Not that Cito is without blame, but it is hard to win with very little experienced pitching. It's hard to start well and then go off the rails. I would say he and Tenace fixed the hitting, which is what they came in to do.
And Cito isn't taking it lying down ""If they're unhappy, they have to look at themselves, because I certainly treated everybody in a way that I'd like to be treated as a player and how I'd like my manager to treat me. If they're grumbling, they're grumbling because they didn't do their jobs. They had opportunities."
Ooh.
But it might be time to let him go. Fresh start and all that.
I was somewhat offended this year with the Back 2 Back celebration. As great as it was to see how much of an old man Paul Molitor had become, it did come off as a sort of "Hey fans!!! Remember when we were good? When this organization was going places besides Hell?"
