9 Stray Observations
1-Brandon Morrow is a filthy beast and I fully expect Anthopoulos to be arrested any day now for highway robbery. Four starters with 10 wins.
2. Any time Brian Tallet is the least annoying relief pitcher in a game, you know it's a rough day for the bullpen. You know, it isn't necessary to make it a nail biter. Plus Camp, Downs, Gregg and Frasor were all claimed on waivers, so perhaps they will never annoy me again. Sort of sad.
3. If you are going to surrender a homer, you might as well surrender solo homers to Miguel Cabrera. The man is a beast. I found it amusing to see him and Bautista talking so much at first base. "You hit a lot of homeruns....I hit a lot homeruns, too."
4. My dad's solution to the Damien Cox situation. "How about Bautista pees in a cup right in front of him and if it tests negative for PEDs, Cox is taken out and shot? Would that quell his doubts?" Yeah, that'd probably do it.
5. There are a few whispers of what might have been had the so-called Big Four been the Big Five, with a certain former ace leading the charge. Well, there isn't much point in looking back. Maybe the staff plays better with out him, but I sort of think if they can't pitch behind the best guy, they should maybe suck it up. But what I think the big thing is is that Anthopoulos wouldn't have gone after Morrow, stud of the near future, if he still had stud of the near past. But, TheGrumpyOwl, on Twitter, it's a bit ridiculous to think that Bautista might not play everyday if Doc was still a Jay. But deals were made and that's that.
6. Travis Snider went 3-4 yesterday and I'm pleased to see him back in the lineup today.
7. Jayting was postponed but not canceled. My real life got stupid for a bit, so you all have to wait with baited breath.
8. Morrow with filth is strangely 8-1 with a 2.84 ERA at home and is 2-5 with a 6.31 ERA on the road. That's quite a split.
9. Phil Cuzzi? If the runner slides on the plate and is past it when the catcher tags him, that means he is safe. Safe is not what you called.
